Family of Peter^6 Van Wicklen
[Photo is believed by Betty
Kappstatter to be of Peter^6 Van Wicklen, although the label written by Sarah^9
[Van Wicklen] Van Size says Henry Van
Wicklen, Grandfather. The problem is that
Henry is not Sarah's grandfather. Photo courtesy of Betty Kappstatter via 26 Nov

US Census for Oyster Bay, Queens, NY lists
Peter Van Wicklen, 40, and Rosanna,

Wicklen, 68. Also residing there are Peter and Rosanna's children: Elizabeth,
14, George, 12, Hannah, 8, Mary, 5, and Peter, 2.
(There is apparently a mistake
in the census regarding "Hannah." The census clearly says Hannah and
not Henry; however, it appears that the child actually b. in 1842 was son,
Henry.)

**According to the 1930 US Census,
Peter^7's son, Lester, is head of a household in Hempstead, Nassau, NY with his
85-year-old aunt Carolyne (b. 1845) living with him and his wife and four
children. See details on Lester^8's family page. Is it possible that there is
another sibling wedged in between Mary Esther and Peter above?
